The other day I came across a quote that really stuck to me. It wasn’t directly quoted but said, “She’s a diamond that wants to stay coal.” And I felt that because in a lot of ways I feel as though I can relate. I don’t know too much about coal other than it’s something kids could get in their stockings and that it was the theme for District 12 in the Hunger Games, which was coal mining. But it is also said that coal is something that can handle pressure exceptionally well. I guess if one becomes a diamond then they have to go through a certain kind of transformation. Maybe even a metamorphosis if you will. But I like the coal the way as described because it just is. Like maybe when we become diamonds there’s still a little coal left inside of us. Before we become clear, sparkly and classic. Although, not all diamonds are crystal-like. Some have added color to them, making them even more rare. Just something I gave some further thinking too.
